What we're about:

Elite Chaos is an absolutely bat-shit insane group of individuals who pride themselves on the acquisition of purples, oranges and other stat-increasing delights*. We strive to complete a variety of content using our patented "Causally Hardcore" technique in which we do things with an absolutely hardcore attitude inside of our (mostly) causal play schedules. If this makes any sense to you, you may have found a home.

*This most certainly includes PvP and Arenas and we are especially excited about the prospect of guild-rated battlegrounds.

Raiding Times

Generally, EC is devoted to very direct and low frequency 'scheduled' raids. We will be scheduling 25-man raids for two nights a week, Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 7pm to 11pm EST *sharp*. Having said that, impromptu raids are a common occurrence in this guild but that is the beauty of the beast. 10 mans are individually run by guild members based on their varying schedules and we hope that this allows for everyone to participate at their own pace while still being very much part of the guild. It should be made clear that with two raid nights we expect everyone to be as serious about those nights as possible. Eat before (or at the computer), visit the washroom, shut off your cellphone, etc. We ask for your complete undivided attention on these two nights and leaving the rest of the time to play as you please.

What we look for in a member:

Maturity: Our Ventrilo is, to say the least, offensive. Having said that, we are adamant about the fine line between jokes or off-beat humor and actual respect for your guild mates. If you're the type of person who cannot take constructive criticism, this isn't for you. If you are the type of person who is easily offended by a variety of topics, this isn't for you.

Activity: Your activity will directly reflect upon your ability to participate in our guild. We do not hold any activity requirements for members, but expectations of the highly active and not so active are the same - if taking you to a raid is a liability, you will not be invited.

Performance: This is perhaps the most convoluted element of playing in a raiding guild. You do not need to be the prima donna of your class (we have enough already). What we do require of you is quick learning, focus, a continually updated knowledge of as much theorycraft surrounding your class as possible, and most importantly, HUMILITY. Damage and healing meters are a measure of performance, but we prefer a player who can play clutch rather than constant throughput. We like players who seemingly never die and can adapt to situations as directed by the Raid Leaders. If you can be replaced by a script, you are not wanted here.

PvP experience is something we value here as a raiding guild because it demonstrates that you can think as you play and adapt.

Requirements:

Level 80

Not sucking.

Ventrilo

This is necessary. You will not get anywhere in this guild if you cannot participate in Vent. Shyness aside, you do not need to be as vocal as some of our members, but we need you to listen and be there in real time. Typing wipes raids.

Loot Rules:

The Loot Council is made up of the most ruthless theorycrafters in our guild. They will likely know more about your class and your playstyle than you do. As such, our looting rules are based primarily around getting the maximum amount of effectiveness out of the purps. In an ideal situation, everything will be a wash that is determined by good old /random and exclusion (Don't expect to get Naxx 25 loot when you have Naxx 10 and someone has a blue) Given the huge amount of options to acquire gear in WotLK, we expect that all players attempt to get every upgrade they can without depending on "that drop". Don't assume you'll get anything and that attitude will be noticed and rewarded.

Needed classes:

In light of the class flexibility in upcoming WotLK raids, we are taking a different stance on recruiting. We'll take anything as long as you are a pro and especially in the case of hybrids, the more specs you can play effectively the more valuable you are to us. The following is a rough estimate of the kind of generic spots we're trying to fill, in some cases talent spec specific.

Warriors : Low
Paladins : Low
Rogues : Low
Priests : Low
Mages : Low
Hunters : Low
Druids : Low
Warlocks : Low
Shamans : Low
Death Knights : Low

Recruitment procedure:

*NEW* All recruits must obtain a sponsor from within Elite Chaos. This sponsor must be a main raider to make you eligible for recruit status. How does one obtain sponsorship? Do favors for people in Elite Chaos obvi.. err.. play the game. Impress. We run many alts raids and VoAs, anything you do can help toward your sponsorship. Your sponsor will take the initiative to get you in guild events and help familiarize yourself with the guild, both in style and in policy. From there, it is opportunity that gets you a raid spot - and performance that lets you keep it. Unless you're a shadow priest, then just be funny and endearing.
